The New Jersey Law Revision Commission is continuing to comply with changes to New Jersey’s Senator Byron M. Baer Open Public Meetings Act, Executive Orders issued by the Governor of the State of New Jersey, and recommendations issued by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding “social distancing.”
As a result, the October meeting of the New Jersey Law Revision Commission will be conducted remotely on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 4:30 p.m.

1. Autonomous Motor Vehicle - Consideration of a Draft Final Report updating the Commission on the current state of the law concerning autonomous motor vehicles and proposing the conclusion of work in this area. Report

Inheritance from a Deceased Child – Consideration of a Draft Final Report recommending the conclusion of work on this stand-alone project in recognition of the fact that aspects of the underlying issue are addressed by the Commission’s ongoing work on the Uniform Probate Code and the Parentage Act. 3. Standard Form Contracts – Consideration of an Update Memorandum containing proposed changes to the draft statutory language made in response to comments submitted regarding this project. Memo
4. Posse Comitatus - Consideration of a Draft Tentative Report proposing modification to N.J.S. 53:2-1 to remove of the word “posse” from the statute. Report
5. Temporary Disability Benefits to Certain Volunteers and Other Workers - Consideration of a Draft Tentative Report proposing the modification of N.J.S. 34:15-75 to clarify that volunteer firefighters injured in the line of duty qualify for temporary disability coverage even if they are not employed at the time of the injury as discussed in Kocanowski v. Twp. of Bridgewater, 2019 WL 661164 (2019). Report
6. Overdose Prevention Act – Consideration of an Update Memorandum providing information regarding the results of Staff research in this area, and seeking guidance as to the continuance or conclusion of the project. Memo
